COVID Testing Guidelines

- Questions

1. Influeza-Like Illness < 7 days
2. Measured Fever > 38.0°C
3. Bilateral CXR findings suggesting viral pneumonia
4. Procalcitonin < 0.5
5. Admitted or planning to admit

- If yes:

1. enter “COVID-19 Test Request” order in Orchid
2. collect nasopharyngeal swab specimen & affix order label to specimen
3. attach form to specimen to Microbiology lab

- If no to any and strong suspicion for COVID-19, call COVID team physician (Amion) to discuss test approval
